Lutul D. Farrow, MD
Dr. Lutul Farrow is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery and the Director for the Arizona Institute for Sports Medicine. He completed his medical school and residency at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and a sports medicine fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic, where he was an assistant team physician to the NFL Cleveland Browns, NBA Cleveland Cavaliers and the MLB Cleveland Indians. He is currently the Head Team Physician for Pima Community College and also acts as a consultant for the Accenture Match Play Championship, the Tucson Professional Rodeo and the Colorado Rockies when they are playing in Tucson. He specializes in orthopaedic sports medicine and arthroscopy; partial knee arthroplasty, partial and total shoulder arthroplasty; and knee, shoulder and hip arthroscopy. His areas of research interest are anatomic ACL reconstruction and knee biomechanics.
William A. Grana, MD, MPH
Dr. Grana has been a U.S. medical staff member at numerous distinguished athletic events throughout his career. He was a member of the United States Olympic Committee's medical staff at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, head physician for the U.S. team at the 1987 Pan American Games and a physician member of the 1985 U.S. Olympic Committee's Winter World University Games in Italy. Dr. Grana served as a consultant to the Chicago White Sox when they were in Tucson and also as a consultant for The University of Arizona Athletics through 2008. Dr. Grana received his medical degree from Harvard University in 1968 and earned a masters degree in public health administration and policy from the University of Oklahoma in 1995. In 2009 Dr. Grana received the prestigious honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports medicine, one of only 40 such honorees over the last three decades.
Margaret M. Chilvers, MD
Dr. Chilvers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arizona. She specializes in foot and ankle injuries. Dr. Chilvers' career began as an athletic trainer with the UofA Athletics Department. After three years, she decided to pursue a career in medicine and attended medical school at Southern Illinois University. She returned to the University of Arizona and completed her residency with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She finished her education with a fellowship in foot and ankle medicine at the Michigan International Foot and Ankle Center where she was an AO Fellow. She is currently practicing at the Arizona Institute for Sports Medicine on the UPH Kino Campus and the Human Motion Institute Clinic at 707 N. Alvernon Way.
Directions The AZISM is located on the University Physicians Hospital campus at 2800 E. Ajo Way. The AZISM building is accessible from Bentley Ave., which is just east of the Hospital and outpatient clinics building.
