The Department of Emergency Medicine at UPH Hospital
The University of Arizona (UA)/University Physicians Healthcare (UPH) Hospital GME Consortium offers a three-year emergency medicine residency program combining clinical training, academic activities and research opportunities. This is a new ACGME-accredited program.

Our Patients We care for a substantial proportion of our city's uninsured and underinsured and are home to a great many patients with a complex blend of medical, social and psychiatric problems. As we are not limited to these groups, the following patients are commonly seen in our ED
- Latino patients (who may or may not be citizens of the US)
- Snowbirds (people who spend their winters in Arizona, but not live in other parts of the US for the remainder of the year)
- Arizona natives and ranchers
- Native American patients
