Lawrence Aldrich President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Larry Aldrich is an attorney with over 25 years of proven leadership abilities in diverse business positions. As President and CEO he is responsible for various corporate departments at UPH, including Legal/Risk, Information Systems, Electronic Medical Records, Marketing/Business Development/Contracts Administration and Facilities.
Prior to joining UPH, Larry was the founding Chief Operating Officer at The Critical Path Institute (C-Path), a non-profit medical research organization focused on improving the safety and efficacy of the drug development process through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He also served as the president and CEO of Tucson Newspapers. Larry received his law degree from Tulane Law School and his civil engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Jean M. Tkachyk, BS, CPA Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Jean Tkachyk is an Arizona licensed certified public accountant with 23 years of healthcare experience including eight years in public accounting and 15 years as the CFO for University Physicians Healthcare. She graduated from The University of Arizona in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Tere G. LeBarron Vice President of Planning and Integration
Tere LeBarron is responsible for the development, coordination and integration of the UPH planning processes, policy and operational initiatives. LeBarron was previously director of human resources and will continue to supervise and direct all human resources programs within the company. LeBarron has 24 years of experience in human resources with nearly 20 years at the director level. She earned her bachelors degree in management in 1982 and a masters degree in health administration in 1991, both from Arizona State University.
Kathleen Oestreich CEO University Physicians Health Plans
Kathleen Oestreich as CEO oversees all aspects of Health Plan management for University Family Care, University Physicians Healthcare Group, Maricopa Health Plan, and the Medicare Special Needs Plan - University Physicians Care Advantage. Plan membership is currently over 116,000 in 8 counties in Southern Arizona and Maricopa County and expected to continue to grow. Management of the Health Plans Division includes a leadership team of 30 Directors and Managers, and a staff of 315 located in Phoenix and Tucson. Prior to joining the Health Plan Division in 2000 as the Director of Operations, Kathleen had 17 years of experience as a Clinical Practice Administrator and Practice Manager for both private physician groups and academic based clinical/research programs. Experience working as Senior Financial Analyst of an integrated healthcare system for budget and reimbursement management rounds out her past 25 years of work experience.
UNIVERSITY PHYSICIANS HOSPITAL AND OUTPATIENT CLINICS
Peter Bryan CEO of University Physicians Hospital
Pete has 10 years of senior leadership experience at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California - bearing resemblance to University Physicians Hospital in size, patient population and reimbursement structure, relationship with the County, physician membership and Graduate Medical Education programs. Additionally, he has many years of experience in hospital administration, physician relations and understands the needs of physicians in their practices.
Richard Mandel, MD Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Mandel is a graduate of the New York University School of Medicine, New York City. A specialist in infectious diseases, he has been with UPH and on the faculty of the UA College of Medicine since 1989. As medical director, he is responsible for the supervision of medical staff, the development of hospital programs, policies and procedures, and assisting recruitment of physicians at University Physicians Hospital.
John Collins Chief Financial Officer
John Collins has 23 years of financial and accounting experience in diversified health care environments. He has valuable knowledge in budget controls, cost accounting, contract negotiations and materials management, which enables him to provide exceptional leadership in developing financial goals and procedures. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from San Diego State University and received the Vanguard Financial Achievement Award in 2002.
Jean Fedigan Chief Nursing Officer
Jean Fedigan directs the nursing and clinical operations of UPH Hospital. Prior to her promotion to Chief Nursing Officer, Jean was responsible for the financial and clinical operations of the outpatient clinics located on the University Physicians Hospital campus. Prior to joining UPH in 2005, Jean was the Director of Patient Care Services at Health South Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson where she was responsible for all inpatient unit operations including supervision of Pharmacy, Respiratory, Radiology and Dietary. She also worked at Tucson Medical Center from 1993 to 2001 in progressively responsible clinical and management roles. Jean earned her associate degree in nursing from Pima Community College, her bachelor's degree in Nursing from University of Phoenix and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix. |
